Thato Mabelane is bringing her hilarious one-woman show to Johannesburg next month. Called ‘3rd Generation Coconut’, the show launched at the National Arts Festival last year and has been touring all over South Africa to outstanding reviews.
It’s an entertaining reflection of her life: Including amusing perceptions about her love of the ocean, swimming and rowing which began early in life while growing up in Tembisa and nurtured at school – the Holy Rosary Convent in Edenvale. This interspersed with riotous retelling of a few potential life-threatening encounters along her life’s journey – think great white sharks!
Laugh along with her as she also gives you a glimpse of life as an HR practitioner and the humour that it provides, while also taking a look at what makes us unique as South Africans and about turning 40.
