Hosted at the breathtaking Divine Sunset, the premier event venue owned by renowned skincare entrepreneur Portia M, the evening unfolded against a backdrop of golden-hour sunsets and lush, serene landscapes — spaces synonymous with curating unforgettable moments for South Africa’s elite. Divine Sunset, known for its opulent yet grounded ambiance, provided the perfect canvas for Nomcebo to reflect on four decades of an adventurous life, from her humble beginnings as a backing vocalist to becoming a global force in music.

Nomcebo, radiant in a custom-designed luxe Otiz Seflo dress that evoked timeless elegance, shared heartfelt moments with her husband and their children, as well as a select circle of industry peers and lifelong supporters. The night featured a decadent dining experience, with dishes adorned with symbolic motifs of her career highs — crafted by celebrated chef Connie Shandu, CEO of Dandozest.

Hosted by industry powerhouses Masechaba Mposwa and Aaron Moloisi, the evening unfolded with an exquisite sequence of events that brought Nomcebo’s milestone to life. The program opened with a deeply spiritual prayer led by South African gospel and Afro-music artist/music executive Ntethe Mposwa, setting a tone of reverence and gratitude. This was followed by an electrifying performance from Nomcebo’s longtime collaborator, legendary maskandi artist Mbuzeni, whose powerful vocals and intricate guitar work infused the room with raw cultural depth and waves of celebratory energy — paving the way for the joyous festivities that deepened as the night progressed.
