On Sunday, 14 December, Africa Fashion International (AFI) unveiled the FAMES™ Crew Collection at the South African Music Awards (SAMAs), inviting young people, investors and audiences to turn their attention toward South Africa’s creative and cultural industries.

The limited-edition capsule collection is now available on pre-order for customers via the House of NALA online store and in Sandton City. Beyond street style, the collection carries purpose: 10% of proceeds will fund programmes that develop skills and create pathways into the industry for young creatives.

“FAMES™ is a fashion movement,” explains the Creative Lead at AFI’s NALA Privé Atelier, Loice Dube. “In a time where South Africa faces challenges, especially youth unemployment, the creative industry offers a glimmer of hope. It tells our stories and changes perceptions about Africa. This collection is our way of supporting this momentum and elevating it even further through collaboration and investment.”
On the red carpet, Miss South Africa, Qhawekazi Mazaleni, and her runner-up, Luyanda Zuma, joined the movement, engaging the artists in conversations about the power and potential of the creative sector. Both wore custom garments by the NALA Privé Atelier.

NALA Privé Atelier also dressed SAMAs host, Siyabonga Ngwekazi; red carpet hosts, Kuhle Adams and Harrison Mkhize; and Record of the Year category presenter, Teko Modise.
The FAMES™ Crew Collection is a special streetwear line from AFI’s NALA Privé Atelier. It blends their signature tailoring with a clean, street-ready look. The collection celebrates the rebellious spirit of South Africa and is made for the creative entrepreneurs who are crafting their own opportunities and shaping an industry that’s growing against all odds.
