CCIGA National Filmmakers Event with NFVF: Unlocking Creative Potential
The Cultural and Creative Industries Guild of Africa (CCIGA) is delighted to announce a strategic partnership with the National Film and Video Foundation (NFVF) and The Lifestyle League to host the highly anticipated National Filmmakers Workshop. This groundbreaking initiative aims to bridge the gap between aspiring filmmakers and industry experts, providing a platform for skill development, job creation, business opportunities, and career advancement.
The workshop will feature a comprehensive 2-day program, taking place in Gauteng and Free State from June to August 2025. Day one will focus on expert masterclasses, led by accredited and experienced facilitators, covering various aspects of film and television production, including:
– Research and development
– Screenwriting and storytelling
– Production and directing
– Camera operations and cinematography
– Sound design and editing
– Post-production and visual effects
– Content creation and artificial intelligence integration
Additionally, the program will include a specialized funding application and business development program, as well as commissions. Day two will feature panel discussions with industry experts, government officials, and private sector stakeholders, focusing on:
– Identifying challenges and finding solutions in the film and television industry
– Capacity building and development plans for film and television in communities
– Funding opportunities and royalties
– Job creation and career advancement
– Plans for Creatives participation in BRICS and G20 summit
– Integration of artificial intelligence in filmmaking
– Exhibition and Networking Opportunities
The event will also feature free exhibition stalls for multimedia sector exhibitors to showcase their work and services. All media houses and sponsors are invited to participate in this exciting event, providing opportunities for networking and collaboration.
The CCIGA National Filmmakers Workshop with NFVF is open to experienced and nonexperienced filmmakers from Gauteng and Free State, aged 18-45. The program is designed to cater to both introductory and advanced levels, ensuring that all participants benefit from the expert knowledge shared.
The initiative aims to reach at least 5,000 filmmakers across South Africa and other African countries through webinars and main events scheduled to take place in:
