The day of Heineken Polo was met with perfect Spring weather and breathtaking views of the prestigious Inanda Club, a setting that redefined the boundaries of elegance and excitement. Guests arrived dressed to impress, inspired by this year’s theme, Chukka Culture: Polo Prestige meets Streetwear Cool, a fresh lens on polo style where classic tailoring met sneakers, and timeless sophistication played seamlessly with contemporary edge.
The afternoon kicked off with a signature sit-down lunch at the newly unveiled hospitality area the Heineken Chukka Club. As the action unfolded, they enjoyed exclusive lounge settings with aerial views of the field, watching the thrilling matchups in true comfort and luxury.
The event drew a glamorous guest list, including entrepreneur Naliyana Uma, Influencer Cherne Africa, style icon Blue Mbombo, and award-winning actresses Nomvelo Makhanya and Zikhona Sodlaka gracing the occasion. The atmosphere was further elevated by electrifying sets from celebrated DJs Thuli Phongolo and DJ Fresh, who kept the energy high throughout the night. A highlight came when guests took part in the much-loved polo tradition of divot stomping, an interactive moment that brought them closer to the sport.
The crowd was treated to a show-stopping run-off race between horses and a Ferrari, merging heritage and horsepower in one unforgettable moment. The day culminated in an elegant prize-giving ceremony, celebrating the winning teams and individual standouts in true Heineken Polo style. The ground-breaking tournament format lived up to expectations, delivering electrifying matchups that saw the Plate Final, Team Alistair emerged victorious, with Jossie Splisbury named Most Valuable Player and Tinkle awarded as Best Playing Pony.
The Championship Final saw Fairview Meadows crowned overall champions, while Reckless Polo secured the runners-up position. Steve Stewart shone as the Most Valuable Player, and the majestic pony Dreams, claimed the Best Playing Pony honor.
