DJ Bubbles is Approaching 3 Decades in Music with International Debut at Hï Ibiza alongside Black Coffee
Sakhile “DJ Bubbles” Ndlazi has officially come full circle. From spinning the decks for the first time in 1996 and compiling his very first dance music compilation for Flipside Records in 1999 to sharing the stage with global icon Black Coffee this September at Wild Corner Hï Ibiza, DJ Bubbles celebrates almost 30 years of crafting timeless, soulful sets.
Known as “the go-to guy when you want that heat,” DJ Bubbles has spent more than two decades building a reputation as a trusted voice in South Africa’s underground scene. His sound merges the tactile nostalgia of vinyl with modern underground influences, creating experiences that are warm, cinematic, and transportive.
Reflecting on his journey, DJ Bubbles recalls:
“On 1 September 2000, I had the opportunity to release my first-ever dance compilation for Flipside Records. That project changed everything for me and now, 30 years later, to make my international debut in Ibiza feels like a full circle moment.”
A vinyl collector, DJ, and founder of Urban Touch Recordings, Bubbles has consistently been at the forefront of South Africa’s evolving music landscape. His genre-defying sets blend jazz, soul, deep house, afrobeat, hip hop, and electronica, making him a bridge between tradition and innovation. He’s also a sought-after collaborator, working across design festivals, live performances, and cultural projects.
For radio stations and curators, DJ Bubbles represents an authentic voice of South African music with global resonance. His sets do not just entertain, they tell stories, spotlighting local roots while connecting with international rhythms. His milestone Ibiza debut signals not only personal achievement but also South Africa’s ongoing influence on the world stage.
With 30 years of history behind him and new horizons ahead, DJ Bubbles is poised to continue shaping conversations in music on airwaves, in clubs, and on global stages.
