Goliath Gaming and McDonald’s South Africa announce the McDonald’s Gaming Championship Series

South African multi gaming organisation, Goliath Gaming, and McDonald’s South Africa have announced the McDonald’s Gaming Championship Series. Between October 2024 and April 2025, Goliath Gaming will be visiting various McDonald’s stores across Johannesburg, Pretoria, Cape Town and Durban, transforming each store into a gaming hotspot.

Attendance at the McDonald’s Gaming Championship Series is free, and casual and competitive gamers will have the opportunity to connect with pro esports athletes and the Goliath Gaming community, and compete in live tournaments and challenges featuring popular titles such as EA FC, Tekken 8, and Street Fighter 6. Gamers can put their skills to the test for a share of R50,000 in cash prizes, exclusive Goliath Gaming and McDonald’s merchandise, custom-wrapped PlayStation 5 consoles, McDonald’s meal vouchers, and more. Attendees who are active on the MyM app stand to upsize their prizes.

This collaboration between McDonald’s and Goliath Gaming follows on from the success of the 2023 Goliath Gaming Academy search which set out to unearth South Africa’s hidden FIFA talents and provide them with the support and opportunities to level up their game by signing to Goliath Gaming. The McDonald’s Gaming Championship Series will build upon that in bringing more gaming opportunities to casual and competitive gamers.
