Khoi Tech, an innovative South African technology company founded in Soweto, has been accepted into the highly selective Disraptor AI Readiness Accelerator, a six-month initiative designed to prepare the nation’s most promising SMMEs for the future of artificial intelligence.
The announcement was made at a prestigious gala dinner held in Pretoria, where Khoi Tech was named one of 10 companies selected from hundreds of applicants across South Africa. The event officially launched the programme and brought together founders, industry leaders, and strategic partners supporting the initiative.
Khoi Tech was represented by Seati Moloi (CEO and Founder) and Thato Mangwegape (CMO), alongside the founders of the nine other selected businesses.
The keynote address was delivered by Mr. Sello Ranku, CTO of Telkom Group. The evening’s delegates included executives and officials from the British High Commission, Telkom FutureMakers, Telkom Foundation, and programme partners including Dr. Mmaki Jantjies, Mrs. Judy Vilakazi, and Ms. Mvelo Gama. The event was hosted by M.C. Miss Theledi Tsheku.
A Rigorous Six-Month AI Readiness Journey
Run by Disraptor, the AI Readiness Accelerator integrates selected companies into a high-impact, structured process that includes:
- Recruitment and onboarding
- Cloud modernisation
- Analytics and dashboards
- Data and AI strategy
- Data platform development
- Technical due diligence
- Founder wellness support
To support productivity during the programme, each of the 10 selected companies received a brand-new laptop on the night.
From Consumer Devices to Corporate and Public Health Solutions
While known publicly for products like the Khoi Afriwatch1 smartwatch and Khoi Afripods true wireless earphones, Khoi Tech’s core strength lies in its broader business offerings. The company leverages its full-stack ecosystem—devices, applications, and SaaS platforms—to deliver customizable solutions such as:
- Corporate employee wellness programmes — improving workforce productivity through integrated health monitoring and insights
- Remote patient monitoring — enabling healthcare providers to deliver better care and outcomes remotely
- Sports team data analytics — delivering real-time biometric and performance data to optimise training and recovery
- Driver fatigue and health management — improving safety in logistics and transport through proactive alerts
- Family wellness platforms — offering a consolidated view of family health data to promote proactive wellness
