Martell, one of the world’s most iconic cognac houses, in partnership with entertainment collective Makubenjalo, officially launched its Durban July 2025 campaign at an exclusive media event held on Friday, 13 June at De Vault in Johannesburg. Themed “Marvellous and Classy”, the event set the tone for an unforgettable entry into South Africa’s most prestigious horse racing and fashion event.

This marks Martell’s first-ever participation at the Durban July, and it does so with boldness and sophistication. Anchored by Jams on Ice, one of Joburg’s leading entertainment collectives, the campaign brings together fashion, culture, music, and luxury lifestyle—delivering an experience that captures the spirit of Martell’s unapologetic elegance..”This collaboration with Makubenjalo and Jams on Ice is about more than an event—it’s about making a statement. We’re proud to be stepping into the Durban July space with a campaign that’s true to our identity: bold, stylish, and memorable,” said Tintswalo Baloyi, Category Director for Prestige & High Energy at Pernod Ricard South Africa.
Guests at the launch were treated to an immersive evening that celebrated creativity, collaboration, and high-end culture. In attendance was the main host, Lamiez Holworthy-Morule, and a curated special guest list, including Sithelo Shozi. The event was a vibrant celebration of what’s to come.

“This truly feels like a dream come true. Thank you to everyone who showed up and showed love at the launch. This is only the beginning, and we can’t wait to bring you an unforgettable, luxe experience in Durban,” said an elated Katlego ‘KG’ Bogatsu, founder of Makubenjalo / Jams on ice.
With the Durban July 2025 just weeks away, Martell’s Marvellous and Class campaign is already making waves as one of the most anticipated lifestyle activities on the social calendar.
