Mercedes-AMG is giving its iconic four-door coupé a high-voltage send-off. The CLA 45 S 4Matic+ ‘Final Edition’ has officially arrived in South Africa, but if you want one, you’ll need to move fast.

Only 15 units of this exclusive special edition have been allocated to the South African market, marking the pinnacle of performance for the compact AMG stable.

‘Final Edition’ styling

Every one of the 15 units destined for local shores is finished in Night Black paint, contrasted by yellow accents.

Exclusive wheels: The edition rolls on 19-inch AMG forged wheels in a cross-spoke design, finished in matte black.
The details: Look closer, and you’ll find yellow AMG logos on the mirror covers, “45 S” decals on the doors, and wheel hub covers featuring a yellow laurel wreath.
Night package I & II: These come standard, ensuring the radiator struts, badges, and tailpipes are finished in sophisticated black chrome and high-gloss black.

Four-cylinder power

Under the hood sits the crown jewel of Affalterbach: the M139 2.0-litre turbocharged engine. It remains the most powerful series-production four-cylinder engine in the world.

Hand-assembled under the “One Man, One Engine” philosophy, this powerplant delivers a staggering 310kW and 500Nm. Paired with the lightning-fast AMG Speedshift DCT-8G transmission and the fully variable AMG Performance 4Matic+ all-wheel drive, the performance figures are elite:

Interior

Inside, the “Final Edition” continues the “dark-mode” theme with vibrant yellow highlights. The AMG Performance seats are wrapped in a mix of man-made leather and microfibre, featuring “45 S” embroidery on the headrests.

To remind you of its rarity, a “45 S Final Edition” emblem sits on the centre console. At the same time, the AMG door-sill panels illuminate with yellow lettering to welcome you into the cockpit.
