Nomzamo Mbatha, the acclaimed South African actress and philanthropist, is taking her passion for empowering young women to new heights with her Nomzamo Lighthouse Foundation initiative, the Empowering HER Seminar and Business Awards.
Set to take place on September 14th, 2024, at the prestigious Inanda Country Club in Sandton, this event is designed to be more than just a gathering — it’s a powerful movement aimed at celebrating and uplifting the strength, resilience, and potential of young females across the continent.
Mbatha believes that empowerment starts with building connections. “When we share our stories, we create a sense of community and connection that is essential for empowerment,” she explained. With African Bank and the Hollywood Foundation as key partners, the summit promises to provide tangible resources and actionable advice to help women thrive personally and professionally.
The Empowering HER Seminar will feature a dynamic lineup of speakers, workshops, and performances, all designed to help women gain insights and build meaningful connections. One of the highlights will be a keynote address from Nunu Ntshingila, the renowned women’s rights activist.

The summit will also provide interactive activities like a vision board station and self-care workshops, and a marketplace where female entrepreneurs can promote their businesses.
