One of the Cape Winelands’ most anticipated lifestyle events, the RMB Simonsberg Wine Festival, returns from 28 February–1 March 2026. The event brings together some of South Africa’s most iconic wine estates for a refined celebration of exceptional wines, elevated food experiences and live music, set against the dramatic slopes of the Simonsberg mountains.
Renowned producers including Tokara, Plaisir, Thelema and a curated selection of leading Simonsberg wine farms will present a diverse range of styles and vintages, offering festival-goers the rare opportunity to explore multiple world-class wines in one setting. From structured reds and elegant whites to limited releases and cellar favourites, the festival is designed for both seasoned connoisseurs and curious wine lovers looking to deepen their appreciation.
“The RMB Simonsberg Wine Festival is a true celebration of the calibre of wine that comes from this region,” says Carel Nolte, Festival Manager. “By bringing together some of the most respected names in South African wine, alongside outstanding food and live music, we’re creating an experience that’s sophisticated, relaxed and deeply rooted in place.”
Wine, Food and Music — Perfectly Paired
At its core, the RMB Simonsberg Wine Festival is about indulgence and discovery. Carefully curated food offerings are designed to complement the wines on show, encouraging guests to explore pairings, flavours and styles at their own pace. Live music sets the tone throughout the day, creating an atmosphere that is vibrant yet refined, ideal for lingering conversations, shared tastings and immersive sensory experiences.
This is a festival for anyone who loves wine, whether you’re confidently navigating vintages and terroir, or still learning the language of the glass. Winemakers and knowledgeable teams will be on hand to engage, educate and share stories behind the bottles, making the event as informative as it is enjoyable.
Complementing the festival weekend is the RMB Run4Rivers Trail Run, taking place on 1 March 2026. A meaningful partnership between RMB and Plaisir Wine Estate, Run4Rivers supports the conservation and restoration of rivers and natural ecosystems in the Simonsberg region.
“This festival celebrates not only what the Simonsberg produces, but what it represents,” adds Nolte. “It’s about respecting the land, honouring craftsmanship and creating memorable experiences that reflect the quality and depth of this region.”
