Virgin Atlantic is thrilled to announce the 2024 season of its highly anticipated Cape Town to London Heathrow route. Beginning 27th October 2024, this iconic service returns, offering passengers the perfect opportunity to experience the best of both worlds—from the stunning landscapes of Cape Town to the vibrant energy of London.
The seasonal service will complement the airline’s existing flights between Johannesburg and London Heathrow. The VS478 will operate as a night flight departing Heathrow at 19:15 arriving into Cape Town at 07:50. For the inbound flight, the VS479 will depart at 10:00 landing into London Heathrow later that day at 19:55.
The Cape Town flights will be operated on Virgin Atlantic’s Boeing 787-9 aircraft, offering customers the airline’s award-winning Upper Class, Premium and Economy Light, Classic and Delight cabins. All of the airline’s Boeing 787-9 are fully equipped with Wi-Fi, allowing customers to stay connected throughout their flight.
In response to high demand, we’re excited to share that the season has been extended through to the end of April 2025, adding over 80,000 additional seats on this popular route.
