With one of the biggest and most diverse ranges of innovative dairy products in South Africa, Woolworths has once again come out on top at the prestigious SA Dairy Championships, an award ceremony that recognises and promotes excellence in the dairy world.
As a leading retailer, committed to providing quality products, the Woolworths team is thrilled to have been named the crème de la crème of the 2024 championships, held on 25 April.
The awards, spanning various dairy categories, involved the evaluation of around 900 dairy products by 80 expert judges who meticulously assessed the appearance, texture and flavour across 10 categories.
One of the noteworthy achievements that can accompany a win at the SA Dairy Championship is the Qualité emblem. This has become more than a stamp of approval but rather South Africa’s exclusive mark of excellence in the dairy industry. The emblem is a testament to the commitment to quality upheld by the dairy producers participating in the championships.
Woolworths bagged a total of 114 awards, including 37 first, 35 second and 27 third prizes, with 14 products receiving the coveted Qualité Award. Attaining the highest score and scooping up the prestigious SA Dairy Product of the Year award was Woolworths 10 Months Matured Gouda, signifying its unparalleled excellence in the South African dairy landscape.
“We at Woolworths are committed to helping consumers discover the difference in dairy and look forward to continuously making award-winning products available to them,” says David Cuff, Category Head at Woolworths. “And with this impressive collection of accolades, we’d like to thank our expert dairy team and passionate suppliers for the amazing work they do. Add to that, a huge congratulations to all the contenders and winners of the SA Dairy Championships, it is a true stamp of approval.”
